Captain Mora
Born in Mexico City in 1987, he’s been drawn to movement since a young age—bikes, skateboarding, and sports shaped his life. He adopted the bicycle as his main transport in a chaotic city, later exploring mountain and road cycling, and founding groups like Biciuameros.
He ventured into motorcycling with a Sportster 883, founded motoclubs, and in Quintana Roo discovered dual-sport bikes. During the pandemic, he returned to CDMX to practice enduro. He also sailed small catamarans and monohulls. Today, he shares his passion for sports and adventure in Bacalar.

Master Charly
With over 30 years of experience in mountain biking, Carlos has been a key figure in Mexico’s downhill scene. He was National Champion in 2000 and National Runner-Up in 2001, also earning the title of State Champion in CDMX that same year.
He represented Mexico at two editions of the Master World Cup DH in Canada (2001 and 2002), achieving impressive results: 22nd and 13th place. In 2004, he secured 3rd place at the Quebec Cup, cementing his international standing.
Today, after three decades of passion on two wheels, Carlos shares his knowledge with new generations—blending technique, history, and a deep love for the mountains.

Warrior Esahu
Originally from Bacalar and proud of his Mayan roots, Esahu is all about movement and good vibes. From a young age, he’s been drawn to skateboarding, music, and extreme sports—always with an authentic energy that shines through everything he does.
A fan of body art, a drummer at heart, a movie lover, and party enthusiast, he’s turned Bacalar into his playground. He was one of the first to offer paddleboard tours on the lagoon, knowing every route and hidden corner of the water.
Today, he’s the lead paddleboard guide at ExploreBacalar, and he’s already eyeing his next thrill: diving into the world of motocross.

Aqua Sophie
Born with salt in her veins and a deep love for the ocean, Sofia is a certified scuba instructor with a soft spot for sea turtles and underwater photography. Though she calls herself an amateur photographer, her eye for the underwater world is sharp and filled with wonder.
She earned her PADI instructor certification in 2019, after completing a rigorous series of advanced diving courses and teaching programs, including Rescue Diver, Divemaster, and the Instructor Development Course (IDC).
They Came, They Rode, They Reviewed

My trip with ExploreBacalar was unforgettable — a perfect mix of nature, local culture, and raw adventure.
The off-road cycling and motorcycle routes were the highlight: from the wild trails of Ichkabal Jungle Ride to the peaceful ride through Los Menonitas and the scenic journey along Cayuco Maya. Riding through untouched jungle, lagoons, and remote ruins felt absolutely surreal.
Captain Mora is more than a guide — he’s a connector. With his local knowledge, language skills, and calm leadership, he made everything smooth and personal. I always felt safe, seen, and free to enjoy every moment.
This trip was the definition of adventure. From the jungle paths of Ichkabal, to the coastal ride of Cayuco Maya, every day brought something new. Charly guidance, local knowledge, and genuine care made it easy to enjoy the ride. Can’t wait to join for another route.
